Ask any 'campaigner' from 15 years ago - grown up ones, what is a key in going forward, and they will say money to operate.
They always were completely wrong. This is a hard statement to qualify in a simple way. I have always lived on a ragged threadbare shoestring which could snap at any moment.
But i do know one thing that is easy to prove and i link in that have seen crodwfunding operations over the years - extraordinary how many completely fraudulent ones arose in the region of Hay-on-Wye come summer 2020, what a palaver. My own life - some local hard work helping others but far more important trying to move dialogues forward with right thinking people is FAR FAR more real and living in the moment and develops in good ways, of one has no distractions such as what to spend that bounce back loan money in your bank on. (quite unlawfully obfuscated by the ts and cs and interpretations of half a dozen banks i rightfully applied to for rightful funding for small organic land maintenance and lightbuild operation i had started a few years earlier - all my customers going neurotic spring 2020 and not even wishing OUTDOOR works ongoing a little...)
When in theory every moment of your life matters or you may starve next week, you kindof subconsciously pull your trousers up on what matters far more - authenticity and learning how to take risks to develop maybe better rhetoric. Without getting black eyes or creating any division - bridging. Quite successfully as it happens. Bully for me. Because you should really be doing other things like fixing the customer problem... so as to eat next week.
For a range of reasons quite quite organic i know i have to get a good film made of some of the simpler aspects of freedom of speech. I know i will succeed. And it will be better if the absolute living on the edginess of the last 15 years continues. Because somehow that is when the better lines come into ones head. No distractions, no restaurant to go to being life has been at most minimum for many years, no car to fix half the time - bicycle only, no new walking boots to buy as i Stormsure (utterly amazing works and i dont lie!!)repair everything and keep it going for years....adore thrift.
But efficiency of time means maybe i need to get my jaloppy fixed (all bearings had it so restricted to 30mph) etc etc and if anyone wants to put something in for the first time EVER i have a begging bowl out - which only goes on expenses. For example where i live broadband has been so so awful always i am still on actual mid 00s dialup speeds no kiddin....so need to drive a few miles to get to better mobile signal (i have all my local laybys scouted and rated for upload speeds) just to upload 100mb of waffle never mind the zillions of gigabytes of interesting film i have including interviews on free speech.
And that costs time and diesel
i have no idea how paypal me works maybe someone wants to stick something in it and i can find out. I expect nothing. prefer to be ignored it is so so much better for real creativity i use elsewhere on stuff i care about ...
this - f.o.s. became just a job....always unpaid except once Bella magazine 2006 did an article £750 hahh hahhh and they sure included some slagging off lies form the other camp... so be it its only ferret food (money)...
oh yes.... and it is linked really - the complete dumbing down of our society and why we must have total grown up free speech to move forward. Some of my some year best (real) friends the local Jehovah's Witnesses ...in fact 7 years i have known several rather well - mainly because unlike any so called Green or social justice caring person or Guardian Reading feminist or green or anti opressionist or whatever trendy fraud words they use for facebook posting when they cannot get to sleep as they never go out and walk our hills, the JWS have in the main a sense of humour and do not run away crying at actual Socratic loving debate in public - and then when the debates became word duels to the death 5ish years ago my they fight back with genuine human laughter in they eyes.... many are 'on file'.
Anyway yes but when their elders in person - me and them jousting on ethics and universal values , do not even know what the biblical references to "Mammon" is.... a suggested root of all or most 'evil' ... middle aged men who have smartphones good jobs wealth and fine health, and love to whip them out to reference search something in their bible...
as 100 times i remind them there is no 'hope' and i mean it.... when even the ELDERS of a rich local JW hall did not know what the word Mammon meant and the usage in English.... you have a problem.
