200 I have wandered around a lot of the South Western Coastal path - 3000km in chunks since early 2024. One meets many teachers, and even social workers, there. And thankfully far more Europeans.
We speak of the total disaster in the British family. It is.
ALL of many schooltreachers i speak with in their 40s to 60s want to leave or are on the verge of.
And so so interestingly, speaking with many Europeans - mainly mothers, asking them if their children have friends who are whipped up into stress or angst by " false allegations, self harm, eating disorders, mental health issues, drug guzzling, and gender issues" most - except from a few of largest cities, look at you funny. They don't know what you are talking about.
Whereas even in the SW of Uk never mind The Marches and ALL even suburban UK parents speak of these things as the norm.
A few stupid middle aged (always middle class and often arty) Brits try and bullshit you with " we have hope and we must manifest positivity" ...
They won't have bothered to read Affluenza which already identified trends which led to all this, from early in the 00s. Nor suggest to their daughter son or niece " ehhh... the grandkid... it is crystal clear if you follow LAbour Patry moaning entitled policy they have been adverting 5+ years... ten in fact, that so as to afford the absurd new £500 pram or 'infantile transport system with bells on' you return to work 6 months after birth, or in fact farm them out even three years....... or even put the kid in full time education at five.. you will screw them up.. for life"
There is no hope as the cost of so much dysfunction was NEVER sustainable. Europe spends far less state money on family 'care' and state interventions (and millions picking up the pieces when things go wrong) because it is not viable longterm. Society is only financially viable if neighbour or family members are involved far more in mentoring, advising, guiding..families in a mess. In the UK you may face a harassment lore, threat just for helping a young man neighbour with his CV a few times...after he says he wishes that. But gets sulky....due the high powered skunk. Nowadays more likely, ketamine.
And... no one seems to get it any more - transparency assists REAL discussion...

And then three years later, out of the blue, a (de facto) 'reversal' is announced in parliament... within four months JAck Straw is on tv eating his words. Only because of one person as he full well knew - i am quite sure the senior women journalists of The Times - one the most senior, my new quite sincere friend, told him who wrote her copy..as legal Ed of The Times... telling the country he is 'hoodwinking' the people...

And as for environmental matters. Soon i take forward an attempt - merely by writing my memoirs of 20 years of eco frauds at Hay-on-Wye and West Herefordshire, at blocking this 100% scandalous false legal case... because not one EVER did a thing to address pollution in the Wye over 20 years. And now they smugly bay via the courts for big payouts... that is no example to set the next generation.
Even if they really are in a terrible mess...i know i speak to their mums who actually tell me the truth.
BIUt more than anything else how wonderful... though not for her i fully empathise with. She knows my story... as i heard hers....on the SW path justa few days ago..... how a 30 year social worker was so attacked and suffered terrible injustice by the system - including vicious false allegations by a mother who wished to destroy her... the mother of her grands... merely for being part of a legal case supporting her son father of those grands.. and one of the worst cases of injustice i ever heard...
The reason this continues, is the 100% wet blanket failure to keep REAL solidarity and community among those of us who from the mid 00s were successfully reforming this family system...
Or simply in oldschool words.. ego.
